Why cold formed steel construction?

Meaning almost 90% of our steel brought from the mill has been recycled steel. It can be reused multiple times allowing it to be a much more environmentally friendly product. How durable is cold formed steel?

Steel has a much stronger building base than wood as well as a higher strength-to-weight ratio. This becomes apparent when despite the strength of steel, it is generally 30-50% lighter than wood. This allows you to use fewer members throughout construction. On top of all that steel is fireproof and resistant to any termites or other harmful bugs. Steel will not shrink, split, crack, or be susceptible to things such as fungus or mold that can be harmful to wood products. Overall, the strength, longevity, and lack of need for repair and replacement are a hefty part of the benefits that steel has over wood.
